Donald J. Brownrigg Promoted to Chief Executive Officer for SM-Cyclo of Canada, Ltd.
Sumitomo Drive Technologies Senior Management announces the promotion of Mr. Donald J. Brownrigg to the position of CEO/President for SM-Cyclo of Canada, Ltd (SM-Cyclo) effective January 1, 2007. Mr. Brownrigg’s 35 years of power transmission industry experience include 15 years at SM-Cyclo in key sales, marketing and operations positions. He began his career at SM-Cyclo in 1991 as Canadian General Sales Manager when the company was a subsidiary of Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America. In 1996, he advanced to International Operations Manager and served for five years at the SMA headquarters in Chesapeake, VA. Mr. Brownrigg’s leadership was instrumental in the growth that made SM-Cyclo an independent company, and in 2001 he returned to the company’s Oakville, Ontario facility to accept the position of COO/President. As CEO/President, his strong leadership and vast experience will be important to the company’s future growth in the global power transmission market.
