Common Paramax Gearbox Problems
PARAMAX gearboxes are built for demanding industrial applications, but wear, contamination, loading changes, lubrication issues, and age can affect any installed unit. An inspection can help determine whether the problem is limited to serviceable components or has begun to affect the gearing, shafts, bearings, or housing.
Excessive Noise or Vibration
Changes in sound or vibration may point to bearing wear, gear tooth damage, shaft movement, misalignment, or changes in tooth contact.
A detailed inspection can help identify the source before the condition affects other internal components.
Overheating/Lubrication Problems
High operating temperatures may be connected to improper lubrication, contamination, overloaded conditions, restricted oil flow, bearing wear, or internal clearances.
Oil condition and operating history should be reviewed as part of the evaluation.
Oil Leakage and Seal Wear
Oil leaks often start with worn seals, but the seal may not be the only problem.
The team can also check the shaft surface, breather, and housing joints to find out why the leak keeps coming back.
